Dental crowns are caps that cover the tops of teeth, giving them better strength and stability. The crown also provides a new chewing surface.
We utilize CEREC* technology which allows us to make your dental crowns in one appointment. With CEREC we take a digital scan of the teeth and virtually design your crown with the sophisticated software. We then send that information to a milling unit and the crown is fabricated while you wait. The fit and strength are unprecedented and we have complete control of the final fit and esthetics.
Why would you need dental crowns? A tooth crown is the standard way to finish a root canal procedure. It can also help correct the following conditions:
We can use either the traditional process for getting your dental crowns or an expedited CEREC process.
The traditional method is to take a physical impression of a tooth and send that off-site to produce your crown. We’ll give you a temporary tooth crown in the meantime. Then, you’ll wait until another appointment when we can place your customized, permanent one.
We’ll keep you very comfortable during the procedure by numbing the area that we’ll be working on. We can work with patients of any age and make sure each patient feels safe during the process.
Alternatively, using our CEREC technology, we can create and place your new tooth crown in a single appointment! The system allows us to scan your tooth with a digital camera and design your custom crown using a computer.
We can create your crown here in our office within 90 minutes. Finally, we’ll place it on your tooth, restoring the tooth’s function and even matching its color. We want you to be able to walk out of here with no more worries about that damaged tooth.
Gaps in your smile can be filled in using dental bridges. These implements are replacements that are securely anchored in place by crowns on either side of the gap. Placing a dental bridge means that your mouth is fully functional again, making chewing and speaking much more comfortable for you.
Dental bridges are customized for your unique mouth in both color and shape, so your dental work blends in with your other teeth.
Even better, these dental bridges, just like dental crowns, can be made for you in as little as 90 minutes with our CEREC machine! This means you can have a full smile again in a single appointment!
We maintain a caring office here at Pinnacle Dental Associates along with a wide range of comprehensive services. That’s why we have technology like CEREC— to make dentistry as simple and quick as it can be to help fit into your busy life.
Whether you or another member of your family needs a tooth crown or a dental bridge, we’re excited to help you. Let us treat you like part of our family. Call today to set up an appointment.
